We may also ask some patients to monitor their blood pressure at home and provide us with a series of readings.
To arrange a blood pressure check, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111.
Blood Tests
Blood tests are available at the practice when they have been requested by a member of our clinical team.
Blood tests can be used to investigate symptoms, monitor certain health conditions or medicines, or as part of a routine review.

If a hospital or another healthcare service has asked you to have a blood test, please provide us with the blood test request or details of the tests required where appropriate.
Cervical Screening
Cervical screening (sometimes called a smear test) is offered to eligible patients as part of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme. It helps to prevent cervical cancer by checking for certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV) that can cause changes to the cells of the cervix.
You will usually receive an invitation when your cervical screening is due.
Once you have been invited, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111 to book an appointment with a member of our nursing team.
If you are unsure when your next cervical screening is due, or think you may be due or overdue, please contact us and we can check this for you.
If you are worried about attending cervical screening or need any adjustments to make your appointment easier, please let us know when booking.
Childhood Vaccinations
Childhood vaccinations are an important part of protecting your child against a range of serious illnesses and are offered as part of the NHS vaccination programme.
We will usually contact you when your child is due for their routine vaccinations and invite you to arrange an appointment with our nursing team.
If you think your child may have missed a vaccination, are unsure which vaccinations they have received, or believe they may be due one, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111. We can check their record and advise you on what to do next.
If your child has missed any routine vaccinations, it is usually possible for them to catch up even if some time has passed.
Contraception & Sexual Health
We can provide advice and support with contraception and sexual health, including discussing contraceptive options, reviewing your current contraception and assessing symptoms such as unusual vaginal discharge, irritation or other vaginal concerns. Where appropriate, vaginal swabs or other tests can be arranged.
If you would like to discuss contraception or have symptoms or concerns that you would like assessed, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111 to arrange an appropriate appointment.
For specialist sexual health services, including STI testing and treatment, HIV testing, PrEP and PEP, and a wider range of contraceptive services, you can also access Locala Sexual Health directly. Their services are free and confidential, and you do not need a GP referral.

If you have recently had stitches or clips inserted, please make sure you have been told when they should be removed before booking your appointment.
If you have concerns about a wound following a procedure or treatment provided by a hospital or another healthcare service, please contact the team that provided your care in the first instance. They are best placed to advise you about any concerns or complications relating to your treatment.
ECGs
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple test that records the electrical activity of your heart. It may be recommended to investigate symptoms, monitor a heart condition or as part of certain medication monitoring.
ECGs are available at the practice when requested by a member of our clinical team.
If you have been asked to arrange an ECG, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111 to book an appointment.
If a hospital or another healthcare service has asked you to have an ECG at the practice, please provide us with the request or relevant information so that we can make sure the appropriate test has been requested.
First Contact Physiotherapy
Our First Contact Physiotherapy service is available for patients with muscle, joint or bone problems, such as back pain, neck pain, joint pain, sprains or other musculoskeletal problems.
First Contact Physiotherapists are experienced clinicians who can assess your condition, provide advice and treatment, and arrange further investigations or referrals where appropriate.
You do not usually need to see a GP first. If you think a First Contact Physiotherapist may be the right person to help you, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111 and they can advise you about arranging an appointment.
If you are unsure whether physiotherapy is appropriate for your problem, please speak to our reception team and they can help direct you to the most appropriate service.
Joint Injections
We provide joint injections at the practice for certain musculoskeletal conditions where an injection may be an appropriate treatment.
You will need to be assessed by a GP or appropriate clinician first to determine whether a joint injection is suitable for your condition. They will discuss the potential benefits and risks with you and any other treatment options that may be appropriate.
If a joint injection is deemed appropriate, you will be added to our waiting list and contacted to arrange an appointment.
If you have a joint or musculoskeletal problem and would like it assessed, please contact the practice in the usual way.
Learning Disability Annual Health Checks
People aged 14 and over who are on the practice learning disability register are offered a free Annual Health Check each year.
The health check is an opportunity to review your physical and mental health, discuss any medicines you take and identify any additional support or healthcare needs. We can also make reasonable adjustments to help make your appointment more comfortable and accessible.
We will usually contact eligible patients, or their parent, carer or representative where appropriate, when their Annual Health Check is due.
If you think you are eligible for an Annual Health Check, are unsure when your next check is due, or would like to discuss any reasonable adjustments you may need, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111.
Long-Term Condition Reviews
We provide regular reviews and monitoring for patients living with long-term health conditions, including diabetes, asthma, COPD, high blood pressure and heart conditions.
Regular reviews help us monitor your condition, check that your treatment and medication remain appropriate, and give you an opportunity to discuss any concerns about your health.
We will usually contact you when your review is due. Depending on your condition, you may be asked to have blood tests, blood pressure checks or other monitoring before your review so that the results are available for your appointment.
If you are unsure when your next review is due, or think you may be overdue, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111 and we can check this for you.
Maternity & Postnatal Care
If you are pregnant, you can self-refer directly to Bradford Teaching Hospitals Maternity Services to begin your maternity care. You do not need to see a GP first.
Self-refer to Bradford Maternity Services
It is important to contact the maternity service early in your pregnancy so that your care can be arranged and you have access to the appropriate advice and screening tests.
During your pregnancy, most routine antenatal care will be provided by your midwife and maternity team. We will continue to support you with your general healthcare and any medical concerns where appropriate.
Following the birth of your baby, you will usually be invited for a postnatal check at around 6 to 8 weeks to discuss your recovery, physical and emotional wellbeing, contraception and any concerns you may have.
Your baby will also usually be offered a 6 to 8 week physical examination to check their health, growth and development. The baby’s examination and your postnatal check are separate assessments, although they may be arranged around a similar time.
If you or your baby are approaching 8 weeks and you have not been contacted about these checks, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111.
Mental Health Annual Health Checks
Patients with certain severe mental health conditions who are on the practice’s mental health register are offered a physical health check each year.
The check helps us monitor your overall health and may include things such as your blood pressure, weight, blood tests and lifestyle, as well as reviewing any medication and identifying other areas where we can offer support.
We will usually contact you when your annual health check is due. You may be asked to have blood tests or other checks before your appointment so that the results are available for your review.
If you think you are eligible for an annual health check, are unsure when your next check is due, or think you may be overdue, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111 and we can check this for you.
Minor Surgery
We provide a minor surgery service at the practice for certain minor skin conditions and procedures that can safely be carried out in primary care.
You will need to be assessed by a GP or appropriate clinician before a minor surgery appointment can be arranged. They will discuss whether the procedure is suitable to be carried out at the practice and explain the next steps.
If a procedure is appropriate, you will be added to our waiting list and contacted to arrange an appointment.
If you have a new or changing skin lesion, lump or other skin concern, please contact the practice in the usual way so that this can be assessed first.
NHS Health Checks
The NHS Health Check is a free health check for eligible adults aged 40 to 74. It is designed to help identify your risk of developing conditions such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and diabetes.
The check usually includes measurements such as your blood pressure, height and weight, as well as a blood test and questions about your lifestyle and family history.
If you are eligible, we may contact you to invite you for an NHS Health Check.
If you are aged 40 to 74 and are unsure whether you are eligible or when your next NHS Health Check is due, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111 and we can check this for you.
Non-NHS Services & Fees
Some services provided by the practice are not covered by the NHS and may involve a fee. This is because the work is outside the NHS services that GP practices are contracted to provide.
Examples include private letters, medical reports, insurance forms and certain certificates or examinations.
Fees vary depending on the type of work required. Please see our current fee schedule for details:
[View our Non-NHS Services & Fees]
Please be aware that non-NHS work is completed alongside our NHS clinical workload and may take some time to complete. We will let you know the expected timescale when you make your request.
If you are unsure whether we can complete a particular form, report or certificate, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111 before making your request.
Social Prescribing
Our social prescribing service can support you with non-medical issues that may be affecting your health and wellbeing.
A social prescriber can take time to understand what matters to you and help connect you with appropriate local services, community groups and other sources of support. This could include help with social isolation, loneliness, finances, housing, employment, physical activity and general wellbeing.
Social prescribing can be particularly helpful if you would benefit from additional support but do not necessarily need medical treatment.
If you think social prescribing could help you, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111. We can advise you about accessing the service.

Travel Vaccines
If you are planning to travel abroad, we recommend checking the health advice and vaccination requirements for your destination as early as possible.
Check travel health advice for your destination – TravelHealthPro
If you think you may need travel vaccinations, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111. You will initially be booked for a telephone consultation with one of our nurses.
During this consultation, the nurse will review your destination, travel plans and vaccination history and discuss which vaccinations you may need. If you require vaccinations that we can provide through the NHS, the nurse will arrange an appointment for you to receive these at the practice.
Some vaccinations recommended specifically for travel are not available free through the NHS. If you require one of these vaccinations, you will be advised to arrange this through a private travel vaccination service.
Please contact us as early as possible before you travel, ideally at least 6 to 8 weeks before departure, as some vaccinations need to be given in advance or require a course of doses.
Vaccinations for Adults
The NHS offers a number of vaccinations to adults depending on factors such as age, medical conditions, pregnancy and other risk factors.
These may include vaccinations against flu, COVID-19, shingles, pneumococcal disease and RSV, depending on your eligibility.
We will usually contact eligible patients when seasonal vaccination programmes are running or when a vaccination is due.
If you are unsure whether you are eligible for a particular vaccination, think you may have missed one, or would like us to check your vaccination record, please contact our reception team on 01274 484111.
You can also find information about NHS vaccinations and who is eligible on the NHS website:
