Seasonal Influenza Vaccination
The national flu immunisation programme aims to protect people who are at greater risk of becoming seriously unwell from flu.
Flu vaccinations are available from 1 September for:
- all children aged 2 and 3 (born between 01/09/22 and 31/08/24)
- children in clinical risk groups aged from 6 months to under 18 years
- pregnant women.
From 1 October, vaccinations are also available for:
- people aged 65 years and over
- people aged 18 to under 65 years in a clinical risk group
- people living in long-stay residential care homes
- carers
- close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
- frontline health and social care staff.
Eligible patients will receive an invitation by SMS with a link to book an appointment online. Patients who do not have a mobile number recorded, or who have chosen not to receive SMS messages, will be contacted by telephone.

Housebound Patients
Patients who are registered with the practice as housebound will automatically be visited during October.
