Our practice hosts the following services and clinics:
Care of the Elderly
Held by Dr Dawn Turner on a Wednesday Morning
We are the link practice for this local care home where Dr Turner does a weekly ward round at Alexandra House Care Home. If she is unable to attend, one of our other doctors will carry out this duty.
Cervical Smears
Held by the Practice Nurses throughout the week.
Every 3 years from 25 to 49 years of age. Every 5 years from 50 to 64 years of age.
Child Immunisations
Held by the Practice Nurses.
Chronic Disease Management Clinic
Held by the Practice Nurses for Diabetes, Asthma and COPD.
Travel Health
Bridges Medical Practice is not currently offering travel advice. We advise you to attend your local private travel clinic. There is one in Boots Metro Centre & Eldon Square. However if you need Typhoid, Hepatitis A or Diphtheria/Tetanus/Typhoid vaccines we can give offer these here, free of charge.
Student/Young People Clinic
Held by Dr Paul Evans.
Bridges Medical Practice now holds a young peoples clinic (0-24) on a Wednesday afternoon between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00pm. This is a drop in clinic, no appointment needed, just turn up.
Same Day Appointment for Children Policy
Held by any of our GPs.
We prioritise appointments for babies and children under the age of 12 who are unwell.
If your child becomes ill, please contact the practice and our reception team will arrange a same-day appointment where clinically appropriate.
We offer appointments throughout the day, including later appointments for children whose condition may worsen during the day.
