Register with our practice

Witterings Medical Centre welcomes new patients who live within our catchment area. To check whether you are in our catchment please use the interactive map. We do not accept registrations from patients outside our area.

Please use the online form to register. You do not need proof of address or immigration status, ID or an NHS number.

Please contact reception if you require a paper registration form.

Temporary Registrations

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days if you are in urgent need. If you require emergency treatment you should call 999.

You can contact your own GP for medical assistance, they may be able to help you remotely. Prescriptions can be sent electronically to any local pharmacy. It is often safer for you to contact your own GP as they have full access to your medical history.

Other options are available for you including 111, the local urgent treatment centre and local pharmacists. Our reception teams will be happy to provide you with information on local services.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. If you require a registration for longer than three months you will be registered as a permanent patient.

Named GP

All patients are allocated a named accountable GP who is administratively responsible for their overall care at the practice. If you wish to know who your named GP is please contact the practice. If you have a preference as to which GP this is, the practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.
