Who do I see?
Routine appointments
To request a routine appointment in the next 7 days:
- use our online system – SystmOnline
- phone us on 01702 216545, Monday to Friday from 8am
- visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8am
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) to book a screening test or vaccination
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.
Urgent Appointments
To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday):
- phone us on 01702 216545, Monday to Friday from 8am

Cancelling your appointment
If you cannot attend your appointment you give us at least 24 hours notice to save disruption and inconvenience to other patients. When patients do not attend for their appointments a lot of clinical time is wasted and it causes great inconvenience to patients who need an appointment and can’t get an appointment because clinics are booked.
To cancel your appointment:

- phone us on 01702 216545, Monday to Friday from 8am
- reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
Extended Access
This practice offers an out-of-hours GP and Practice Nurse service for our registered patients. Appointments are not held at this surgery but are instead at either Puzey Practice in Rochford or Ashingdon Medical Centre in Ashingdon. This is not a walk-in service and appointments must be pre-booked by telephoning Wakering Medical Centre (Monday – Friday). They can offer telephone appointments, face-to-face, blood tests, dressings etc and are also open on Saturdays.
Home Visits
If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.
House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.
