If you need help when we are closed
Urgent night and weekend visits are covered by Derbyshire Health United; 111
The details of your problem will initially be taken by a call handler and then passed on to a doctor or nurse who will telephone you back. Please be aware that if they are very busy there may be a delay in responding to your call.
NHS 111
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS 111 . The NHS 111 service is staffed by a team of fully trained advisers, supported by experienced nurses. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, then give you the healthcare advice you need or direct you straightaway to the local service that can help you best.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
Minor Injuries
If your injury is not serious, you can get help from a Minor Injuries Unit (MIU), rather than going to an A&E department. Two local minor injuries units are in Ripley Hospital and Ilkeston Hospital and their opening times are between 8am – 10pm – no appointment is usually necessary. Minor injuries units can treat:
- Sprains and strains
- Broken bones
- Wound infections
- Minor burns and scalds
- Minor head injuries
- Insect and animal bites
- Minor eye injuries
- Injuries to the back, shoulders and chest

There are automatic doors installed at the entrance to the surgery.
Disabled Toilet
The Practice has disabled toilet facilities.
Hearing Loop
There is a hearing loop installed at the Surgery for hearing impaired patients. We also have a portable hearing loop that can be used in the Consultation Room. Please let the doctor know if this would be helpful.
Assistance Dogs
Assistance Dogs are welcome to have access to all areas of the Practice.
How to make a complaint
We make every effort to give the best service possible to everyone who attends our practice.
However, we are aware that things can go wrong resulting in a patient feeling that they have a genuine cause for complaint. If this is so, we would wish for the matter to be settled as quickly, and as amicably, as possible.
To pursue a complaint please contact the Practice and the practice manager will deal with your concerns appropriately.
