If you need help when we are closed

When the surgery is closed telephone 111, which is a free phone number which includes free to mobile users. Your call will go direct to the out-of-hours emergency service which will put you in contact with the appropriate service. The appropriate service will be able to give you advice, arrange an appointment at Banbury Hospital or a home visit if required.

We hold an emergency Saturday morning surgery 09:00 – 10:00, you must arrive before 10:00. It is also possible to pre-book an appointment for Saturday morning, please see below. PLEASE NOTE THE PHARMACY IS CLOSED ON A SATURDAY.

Routine consultations for patients, who are unable to attend the surgery during the advertised weekday hours, can also be arranged for a Saturday morning. Please contact reception to book. These appointments must be booked during the previous week. It should be noted that it will not be possible to take blood samples or carry out diagnostic tests which are normally carried out by the practice nurse during these appointments, as there will not be a nurse on duty.

Minor Injuries Unit

There is a MIU at Witney Community Hospital which has a walk-in X-ray unit.

Telephone 01993 209400 or 01993 209459 for the X-ray unit for opening hours.

First Aid Unit

There is a first aid unit at Chipping Norton Hospital which is open during the evening when the surgery is closed until 21:00 Monday-Friday and at weekends & Bank Holidays is open 10:00 – 21:00. Contact 01608 648233. Please note there is no direct access X-ray at this hospital.

Physical accessibility

The surgery has a dropped curb directly opposite the front entrance. There are two clearly marked Disabled Parking spaces next to the main surgery entrance. There is a gently sloping ramp with a hand rail directly from the footpath to the front entrance, allowing wheelchair access and easier access for those with walking difficulties.

There are toilets offering facilities for the disabled adjacent to the patients’ waiting room and the Nurse’s treatment room. All consulting rooms, treatment rooms, dispensary and patients’ waiting areas are on the ground floor. The entrance doors are automatic and the internal door from the entrance door is automatic on arrival and hand-pad at wheelchair height on departure.

If anyone requires a wheelchair to gain access to the surgery we have one available. One of the reception team will be pleased to provide a wheelchair to whoever is accompanying you.

How to make a complaint

We make every effort to give the best service possible to everyone who attends our practice.

However, we are aware that things can go wrong resulting in a patient feeling that they have a genuine cause for complaint. If this is so, we would wish for the matter to be settled as quickly, and as amicably, as possible.

To pursue a complaint please contact the Practice and the practice manager will deal with your concerns appropriately.
