NHS 111 Service

What is it?

It’s a NHS telephone number to help make it easier for you to access local health services. If you live in, or are visiting Hampshire, Portsmouth or Southampton you can now call 111 when you need medical help fast, but it’s not a 999 emergency.

You will be assessed, given advice and directed straightaway to the local service that can help you best. That could be A&E, an Urgent Care Centre, an out of hours GP, community nurse, emergency dentist or a late opening pharmacist.

You can ring the 111 number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Calls from landlines and mobile phones are free.

Urgent Treatment Centre at Lymington Hospital

PHL’s Urgent Treatment Centre (which was the Minor Injuries Unit at Lymington Hospital) will look after patients with a minor injury or a minor illness which is not critical or life threatening. e.g. sprains, broken bones, bites or stings, as well as assessing and treating wounds. The existing team of nurses, healthcare assistants and paramedics will have further support by having a doctor in the unit at all times. Patients will continue to have access to diagnostic facilities such as x-ray.

The UTC is a walk-in service available from 08:00 to 21:00, 7 days a week. See their website below for more information:
