Ordering repeat prescriptions

We strongly recommend that you move to the NHS App for requesting you medication

Download the NHS App

You can also use it to access our patient triage, it is also our recommended point of access to your medical record.

You will need to link the NHS App to Selsey Medical Practice.

There are four ways that our patients can order their repeat medication.

For those with online access, you can:

*This does not need registration or an account. You will have to type in the medication you want, it does not show you your current medications.

If you do not have online access you can:

  • Use a **paper request tick box sheet

**The tick box sheet is usually given out when you collect a paper prescription. You can also get one when you collect medication from the pharmacy. You can post it to us, bring it in, or place it in the white box outside the medical practice. (We empty the box during every working day).

You can not make medication requests on the telephone, or via email.

Medication “Not available”?

We know that it is sometimes difficult to get the medication you need.

If the pharmacist tells you the medicine is not available, you could try another pharmacy.

The Boots website has a page where you can check if a nearby Boots pharmacy has the medication in stock.

Please have a look at this first before contacting the practice. Click here to access the web page.

(Note: the Selsey branch appears as ‘149-151 High Street, Chichester’)

Repeat prescription processing

We deal with Repeat prescription requests twice daily. We check them first. The chemist then checks your drugs are in stock, so please allow at least 4 working days for the whole process.

After a certain number of repeat prescriptions the doctor will reassess your medication. Regular medication usually means that regular check-ups are also necessary.

Please note: repeat prescriptions are only issued at the doctor’s discretion. We only issue repeat prescriptions when the doctor feels that this is appropriate.

Pharmacy services

Many minor illnesses like coughs, colds, back ache, hay fever and other minor illnesses either get better without any intervention or can be self managed using over the counter remedies
