Register with our practice

Selsey Medical Practice welcomes new patients who live within our catchment area. To check whether you are in our catchment please use the interactive map below. We do not accept registrations from patients outside our area.

We are using a new online service called Register with a GP surgery that makes it easy for new patients to register with us. The service is administered by HealthTech-1, click here for further information and their privacy notice.

Please contact reception on 01243 608201 if you require a paper registration form.

Temporary Patient Registration

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days if you are in urgent need. If you require emergency treatment you should call 999.

You can contact your own GP for medical assistance, they may be able to help you remotely. Prescriptions can be sent electronically to any local pharmacy. It is often safer for you to contact your own GP as they have full access to your medical history.

Other options are available for you including 111, the local urgent treatment centre and local pharmacists. Our reception teams will be happy to provide you with information on local services.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. If you require a registration for longer than three months you will be registered as a permanent patient.

Named GP

All patients are allocated a named accountable GP who is administratively responsible for their overall care at the practice. If you wish to know who your named GP is please contact the practice. If you have a preference as to which GP this is, the practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.

Accessing someone else's information

As a parent, family member or carer, you may be able to manage services for another person by switching to their profile on the NHS app. This is also sometimes called having a linked profile or having proxy access. It needs to be set up by us at the GP surgery. You and the other person will both need to be registered with us. You can then switch profiles using the NHS App.

To set this up you need to provide identification. This is so we can confirm who you are and check it’s appropriate for you to act for the other person.

Depending on the level of access we agree to give you, you may be able to switch profiles and:

  • Book an appointment for the other person
  • Order a repeat prescription for them
  • View some or all of their GP health record

Contact us (preferably by email sxicb-wsx.selsey-selsey@nhs.net ) with you request if you would like to organise this service.
