Urgent Appointments
Please let the receptionist know if you need to be seen for an urgent problem.
- phone us on 0114 2399202, Monday to Friday from 8am
Do be prepared to give us some details of what is wrong, as this will help us to see you as soon as possible. Sometimes the doctor may phone you back to ask how you are or offer advice.
When offering urgent appointments we give priority to people with severe pain or discomfort and those with worsening symptoms.
If you have an injury or have been involved in an accident we suggest going immediately to the accident and emergency department at the Northern General Hospital.

Home Visits
We prefer to see all cases including emergencies in surgery where we are properly equipped to examine and diagnose your problem.
If you are very seriously ill or genuinely housebound due to your medical problems and think you might need us to visit you at home, please try and tell us before 10.30am.
If you phone after that time the doctor may have already left the surgery. It helps us if you can give the receptionist a clear idea of your problem, as the doctor will want to visit the most urgent cases first.
If you are ill in bed please make sure that the doctor can get into the house to see you.
