You will be registered with us for a minimum of 12 months, and you will be subject to specific clinical and behavioural guidelines. These guidelines are in place to ensure safe care and consistent support.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><em>O<\/em>ur Approach to Prescribing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We take a holistic and clinically led approach to prescribing. This means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Medication is prescribed only when it is safe and appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Prescriptions are regularly reviewed<\/li>\n<li>Decisions are based on your health needs and current clinical guidance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Controlled Medications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are prescribed controlled drugs or medicines with a risk of dependence:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We will review whether this medication is safe and suitable for long-term use<\/li>\n<li>Where appropriate, we may suggest alternative or less harmful treatments<\/li>\n<li>Any changes will be made following clinical assessment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Overdose or Medication Safety Concerns<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If there is a report that you have taken an overdose of any medication:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your medication will move to daily collection immediately<\/li>\n<li>This arrangement will remain in place for six months<\/li>\n<li>A review will then take place to decide the safest next prescribing plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is done to protect your health and safety.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lost or Missing Medication<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If medication is lost or stolen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A replacement prescription will only be considered once a police crime reference number is provided<\/li>\n<li>Prescriptions will then move to daily collections<\/li>\n<li>This will be reviewed after six months, and a longer-term plan will be agreed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Behaviour Standards \u2013 Zero Tolerance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are committed to providing a safe environment.<\/p>\n<p>We\u00a0<strong>do not tolerate:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Threats or intimidation<\/li>\n<li>Aggressive behaviour<\/li>\n<li>Shouting<\/li>\n<li>Offensive or abusive language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any such behaviour:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Will be recorded<\/li>\n<li>May be reported to the police<\/li>\n<li>May result in restrictions on how you access services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This follows\u00a0<strong>NHS Zero Tolerance guidance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Legal and Clinical Standards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This service works in line with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NHS Zero Tolerance guidance<\/li>\n<li>The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971<\/li>\n<li>NHS England safe prescribing guidance<\/li>\n<li>Local safeguarding and clinical governance arrangements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Patient Agreement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whilst registered with the Mid and South Essex Special Allocation Service, you are confirming that you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand and accept these prescribing arrangements<\/li>\n<li>Agree to regular medication reviews<\/li>\n<li>Understand the consequences of medication loss, overdose, or safety concerns<\/li>\n<li>Agree to meet expected behaviour standards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Failure to follow this guidance may result in further safeguards being put in place.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Contact Us<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have questions about this leaflet or your care:<br \/>\n01702 742105<br \/>\nMonday to Friday 08.00 to 18.30<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mid and South Essex Special Allocation Service (SAS) Important Information for Patients This leaflet explains how the Mid and South Essex Special Allocation Service works&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-532","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/y06389\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/532","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/y06389\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/y06389\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/y06389\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/y06389\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=532"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/y06389\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/532\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/y06389\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=532"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
