Unlike the previous system, SystmConnect is fully integrated with the practice\u2019s clinical software, helping to streamline processes, enhance reliability, and support safer patient management.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Despite the change in technology, patients will find the process for submitting requests remains very similar and straightforward.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\"><strong>Appointment and Administrative Requests<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Under the new system, appointment requests can be submitted between\u00a0<strong>8:00am and 6:30pm on working days<\/strong>\u00a0(Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays). Administrative requests, including prescription enquiries, can be submitted\u00a0<strong>24 hours a day, seven days a week<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">The practice aims to respond to:<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"auto\">\n<li>Urgent appointment requests within\u00a0<strong>two hours<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Routine appointment requests within\u00a0<strong>one working day<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Administrative and prescription requests within\u00a0<strong>three working days<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Patients are advised that response times may occasionally be longer during particularly busy periods.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\"><strong>Easy Access Without an Account<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Patients do not need to create an account or remember login details to submit a request through SystmConnect. However, those who use the NHS App or SystmOnline can choose to sign in, allowing some personal information to be automatically populated.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\"><strong>Support for Family Members and Carers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">The new system also allows requests to be completed on behalf of another person, whether by a family member, friend, carer, or healthcare professional.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">After selecting the appropriate request type and describing the issue, users can indicate whether they are completing the form as the patient, a healthcare professional, or on behalf of someone else. The system will then guide them through providing the necessary details.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\"><strong>Help Available for Patients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Recognising that not everyone is comfortable using online systems, the practice has confirmed that reception staff will be available to assist patients who need support.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Patients can contact the practice by phone or visit in person with their device, where a member of the reception team can guide them through the process.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">An instructional video is also available to help users become familiar with the system below:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SystmConnect Video\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ghb7zfdPNl8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\"><strong>Alternative Access for Those Without Internet<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Patients who do not have internet access or a smartphone will still be able to access the service.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Reception staff can complete the online request on a patient&#8217;s behalf, asking the same questions that appear in the online form.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">These requests will then follow the same clinical triage process.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Patients experiencing problems with appointment links or who require further assistance are encouraged to contact the practice directly, where staff can issue a new link or complete the request for them.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">The practice encourages all patients to familiarise themselves with SystmConnect ahead of the launch and looks forward to providing a more efficient and reliable online service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Patients will soon benefit from a new online consultation platform as the practice transitions from Accurx to SystmConnect from midday on 17 June 2026.
