New Carers<\/h2>\n

Our friendly Patient Information Centre (PIC) is open 9am – 12pm Monday – Friday.<\/p>\n

They are able to offer advice and\u00a0give out an information pack to support carers in our area.<\/p>\n

Please inform a member of the Reception Team or Care Coordinator Team if you are a new carer, or have not registered as a carer with us. Carers are entitled to a free seasonal flu vaccine<\/a> each year, to help protect themselves and those that they care for.<\/p>\n

Carers Support West Sussex<\/h3>\n

Carers Support West Sussex help carers access equipment to assist them in their caring role or provide funds so that carers can do something for themselves. They can also help carers access counselling and call back services, wellbeing support and have teams in all the of the major hospitals in West Sussex<\/p>\n

Carer\u2019s Emergency Alert Card<\/h3>\n

The Carer\u2019s Emergency Alert Card is a laminated card approximately the size of a credit card, which will identify you as a carer if you have an accident.<\/p>\n

Carer\u2019s Health Team<\/h3>\n

The Carer\u2019s Health Team visit the practice bimonthly\u00a0 \u2013 please contact the surgery\u00a0if you would like to book an appointment.<\/p>\n

This is a free service provided by Sussex Community NHS Trust offering support for carers over the age of 18 registered with a West Sussex GP. We work directly with carers and will develop individual strategies for each carer with an aim to reduce the strain of coping with their caring role. We may, if it is necessary, also look at the health needs of the person who is being cared for.<\/p>\n

We will visit carers in their own home at a time to suit their needs or carers can book onto our carers clinic within the surgery.<\/p>\n

East Wittering Carer Drop-in Group<\/h3>\n

A quarterly drop-in service open to all carers that runs between 10:30am and 12:00pm. Please see the events calendar on carerssupport.org.uk to find the next meeting.<\/p>\n

Selsey Community Forum<\/h3>\n

We are working in partnership with Age UK,\u00a0Vitale Care,\u00a0local communities and others to establish<\/p>\n

Help Hubs which provide, in the wider local area of the Manhood Peninsula and Chichester South, free support services along the lines of those offered by the Selsey Care Shop. The number of<\/p>\n

Help Hubs is currently expanding as more local community groups become involved.<\/p>\n

MMVS<\/h3>\n

For patients who are having difficulty with transport to the surgery, we work closely with ‘Manhood Mobility’ volunteer service.<\/p>\n

\u2018Manhood Mobility\u2019 is a group of local volunteers who give their time to those in the community whose have travel needs cannot be met by public transport. They offer a door to door service for essential journeys to hospital, The Medical Centre, Dentists, Opticians and other medical needs.<\/span><\/p>\n
