{"id":576,"date":"2026-09-02T15:17:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T14:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/h82037\/?page_id=576"},"modified":"2026-09-02T15:17:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T14:17:08","slug":"psychosis","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/h82037\/psychosis\/","title":{"rendered":"Psychosis"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Symptoms of Psychosis<\/h3>\n<p>Someone developing psychosis will have their own unique set of symptoms and experiences, according to\u00a0\u00a0their particular circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>Four main symptoms\u00a0are associated with a psychotic episode:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>hallucinations<\/li>\n<li>delusions<\/li>\n<li>confused and disturbed thoughts<\/li>\n<li>lack of insight and self-awareness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Early Intervention<\/h3>\n<p>If you are concerned that you or someone close to you might be suffering from a psychosis,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/conditions\/Psychosis\/\">follow this link<\/a>; check the signs and symptoms and talk to\u00a0your GP for advice and access to help.<\/p>\n<p>If the person causing concern is between 14-64 yrs old, and this might be their first episode of psychosis, anyone can refer them or they can refer themselves to-<\/p>\n<p>Early Intervention Psychosis Service (EIP)<\/p>\n<p>At the Bedale Centre,\u00a01 Glencathara Rd, Bognor Regis PO21 2SF.<\/p>\n<p>Tel\u00a0<strong>0300 3040374<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more information look at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sussexpartnership.nhs.uk\/service-early-intervention-psychosis-west\">EIP website<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Urgent Help<\/h3>\n<p>If you are very concerned\u00a0and feel that your mental heath (or\u00a0the mental health\u00a0of someone you know) needs urgent attention, you can contact:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your GP between 8 am and 6.30 pm on weekdays <strong>01243 608201<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>111<\/strong>, A&amp;E or <strong>999<\/strong> if outside these hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are thinking about suicide, and no one is available to help, ring the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.samaritans.org\/\">Samaritans<\/a>\u00a0on <strong>116 123<\/strong>. They are available to listen and give support, 24 hours a day, everyday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sussexrecoverycollege.org.uk\/\">Recovery college courses<\/a>\u00a0are available to help you with your recovery.<\/p>\n<h3>Sussex Mental Healthline<\/h3>\n<p>For telephone support and information from the Sussex Mental Healthline ring\u00a0<strong>0300 5000 101<\/strong>\u00a0(Available 24 hours, seven days a week in\u00a0West Sussex).<\/p>\n<p>The Sussex Mental Healthline is a telephone service offering support and information to anyone experiencing mental health problems including stress, anxiety and depression.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The service is also available to carers and healthcare professionals.<\/li>\n<li>You do not need an appointment.<\/li>\n<li>They\u00a0are a service available to anyone concerned about their own mental health or that of a relative or friend.<\/li>\n<li>They\u00a0provide support for people experiencing distress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Symptoms of Psychosis Someone developing psychosis will have their own unique set of symptoms and experiences, according to\u00a0\u00a0their particular circumstances.
