{"id":519,"date":"2026-09-02T13:23:45","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T12:23:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/h82037\/?page_id=519"},"modified":"2026-10-21T12:21:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-21T11:21:08","slug":"friends-of-selsey-medical-centre","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/h82037\/friends-of-selsey-medical-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Friends of Selsey Medical Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are most fortunate to have the valuable support of the Friends of Selsey Medical Centre (FOSMC).<\/p>\n<p>Since 1990, this group of dedicated volunteers have raised funds to finance equipment and facilities not provided by the NHS.<\/p>\n<p>All this is provided for the benefit of the 12,500 patients registered with the Medical Centre.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"nhsuk-card__heading\">Achievements To Date<\/h2>\n<p>Over the years the Friends have financed the provision of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ECG machines, 24-hour blood pressure monitors, a retinal camera, automatic doors, examination couches, alterations and additions to the accommodation, new window blinds and privacy shades in the Medical Centre building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most recently the Friends have supported other benefits to patients, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dementia training for surgery staff\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Personal advice service for non-medical matters at the Care Shop and Practice\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Buddy transport scheme <\/strong>, providing a low-cost taxi service from home to surgery and local hospitals driven by volunteers<\/li>\n<li><strong>Robins<\/strong>, providing companionship and support in last weeks of life<\/li>\n<li>New water fountain in Surgery waiting area<\/li>\n<li>Ongoing alterations and redecoration in the surgery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"nhsuk-card__heading\">Membership<\/h2>\n<p>As a local resident you will benefit from the services and equipment that the Friends finance. Please support the Friends with a donation now or a legacy in your will.
