It means the same as \u2018ex service personnel\u2019 or \u2018ex-forces\u2019, although not all veterans know the term or choose to associate with the term \u2018veteran\u2019.<\/p>\n
Younger individuals may refer to themselves as \u2018ex-forces\u2019, in the belief that a veteran is someone who fought in the First\/ Second World War.<\/p>\n
