Care of the Elderly<\/strong><\/p>\n Held by Dr Dawn Turner on a Wednesday Morning<\/p>\n We are the link practice for this local care home where Dr Turner does a weekly ward round at Alexandra House Care Home. If she is unable to attend, one of our other doctors will carry out this duty.<\/p>\n Cervical Smears<\/strong><\/p>\n Held by the Practice Nurses throughout the week.<\/p>\n Every 3 years from 25 to 49 years of age. Every 5 years from 50 to 64 years of age.<\/p>\n Child Immunisations<\/strong><\/p>\n Held by the Practice Nurses.<\/p>\n Chronic Disease Management Clinic<\/strong><\/p>\n Held by the Practice Nurses for Diabetes, Asthma and COPD.<\/p>\n Travel Health<\/strong><\/p>\n Bridges Medical Practice is not currently offering travel advice. We advise you to attend your local private travel clinic. There is one in Boots Metro Centre & Eldon Square. However if you need Typhoid, Hepatitis A or Diphtheria\/Tetanus\/Typhoid vaccines we can give offer these here, free of charge.<\/p>\n Student\/Young People Clinic<\/strong><\/p>\n Held by Dr Paul Evans.<\/p>\n Bridges Medical Practice now holds a young peoples clinic (0-24) on a Wednesday afternoon between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00pm. This is a drop in clinic, no appointment needed, just turn up.<\/p>\n Same Day Appointment for Children Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n Held by any of our GPs.<\/p>\n We prioritise appointments for babies and children under the age of 12 who are unwell.<\/p>\n If your child becomes ill, please contact the practice and our reception team will arrange a same-day appointment where clinically appropriate.<\/p>\n We offer appointments throughout the day, including later appointments for children whose condition may worsen during the day.<\/p>\n Parents and carers can also access helpful advice about common childhood illnesses at:<\/p>\n
