{"id":467,"date":"2026-01-12T09:30:28","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T09:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/a83011\/?page_id=467"},"modified":"2026-02-12T13:15:51","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T13:15:51","slug":"patient-transport","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/surgerywebtemp.org.uk\/a83011\/patient-transport\/","title":{"rendered":"Patient Transport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-block-key=\"ss18j\">Patient transport services (PTS) provides free transport to and from hospital or NHS provider for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-block-key=\"5ffh1\">patients with a medical need for transport;<\/li>\n<li data-block-key=\"3qpti\">escorts for patients who have a medical need for an escort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-block-key=\"flalt\">Making a booking<\/h3>\n<p data-block-key=\"8ng34\">To make a transport booking, patients, their family members or carers will need to <b>dial <a href=\"tel:03000269999\">03000 269 999<\/a><\/b>, where they will be taken through the national eligibility criteria by a TRC call handler to ensure there is a medical\u00a0 need for transport.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"eelpl\">Once eligibility is confirmed, TRC will then complete the booking via the North East Ambulance Service\u2019s on-line booking portal.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"603tn\">Please only ask for transport if you have a medical need for transport or a medical need for an escort.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"7vu52\"><b>Your local patient transport service is only for those with a medical need.
